Still no Shield Game Controller support I've bought and downloaded this game many times, and sent a request to the developer about controller support. I hear that the Shield Remote works, but the Game Controller still does not. I don't use any key binding programs, and am only using the console controller that comes with the Shield TV. Every other game I've downloaded through the play store works but this one. I have been dying to play this game, and this is an unfortunate oversight. I hope you can resolve it.
Has an annoying bug with controller input. I have a Shield TV with a Logitech Harmony Hub paired via bluetooth that serves as a universal remote. This game seems to think the remote is the game controller and the gamepad doesn't work. I have to turn off the Logitech Hub before I start the game in order to play with the gamepad.
I had submitted a ticket concerning the lack of controller support in April. It now is August. The game is abandoned. It is now reported to Google since its placement on the Android TV Store as having controller support without functioning controller support is false advertising. To reiterate what I had said in my ticket: nVidia Android Shield TV. Tested controllers: Shield TV controller and Ouya controller.
Doesn't work On my nvidia shield tv 16GB model with expanded storage just instantly crashes and I have sent a report. I have no refund option by the time i got to install and test. Would love to play this on the device I bought it for. Hopefully developer will update and will get to play and rate correctly.
Just have to leave a short review here to say that this functions perfectly fine on my NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro with the NVIDIA SHIELD Controller, so the reviews stating there is a problem with the game using the SHIELD device and controller must have some weird things interfering in their own setup. Plays good, and looks nice and sharp.

New Android TV support is broken Installs and runs on the Shield TV, but had no support for the d-pad or joystick on the controller. You can use the Shield stick remote, but that's very difficult. Please fix these simple functions for the controller.
Controller doesn't work Using nvidia shield TV and as a 33 year old guy who played this as a kid and now has his own kids I was buzzing.. Controller doesn't work tried normal shield controller or the ps4 wired usb one (as a side note - ideal if you have a console and don't want to put another £40 on another shield remote we used the stock ps4 one with a lead for a ton of CO op games like lego)

Fantastic Great looking, worth the buck fir all the game play. Controls could be a little better, but they're almost perfect. The game would easily be worth more if they made controller support. Make sure to close the game out after you're done playing. It may burn out your battery or force you're device to reboot.
I really want to enjoy this game I grew up with DuckTales! I loved the show and the NES game on which this remaster is based. I was excited to finally be able to download and play this on my phone. However, there are some major bugs regarding movement and controls. For the most part, they work fine (especially with the Bluetooth controller I have). But, then the controls will lock up, causing me to stand still, walk nonstop in one direction or constantly pogo jump in place, whether I use touch or Bluetooth controls.
Great fun, but needs controller support. They did a nice job bringing back the DuckTales game, but as much as it use on screen controls the experience is degraded. Fingers are not transparent so you might not see upcoming elements and the button regions are strict and can hamper quick switching. Adding controller support and adding Android TV support would make playing this significantly more enjoyable. Still fun with these deficiencies.
Great job of porting! Looks as good as the Xbox 360 port and loads faster. Not sure about total content, haven't played it all the way through yet. My only real gripe? Controls. Mickey's Castle of Illusion had much better controls. I hate the up, down, left, right arrows. The jump/pogo buttons are serviceable, but they, too, lack SOMETHING, I just can't put my finger on it (figuratively speaking).
Jeez this game is hard. Remake brings back memories of wanting to throw gameboy against a wall. Expect to play through stages many times to find the optimal path to the boss minimizing health and life loss. And the feeling when you spent 15 mins playing a stage perfectly only to get destroyed by the boss in a few seconds, ouch. There should be a game mode for the less hardcore players that just want to enjoy the story. Been playing on normal, may need to restart on easy. Overall great game though.
Only played this for a minute Is anyone elses game mega glitching? First where they drive along in the car the car is missing (invisible) you can only see Duckworth sitting in mid air and even mcduck is missing during game play all but the little shadow circle underneath him, he only appears (flashing) sometimes when jumping. Thank god I only paid 80p for it but even at that I want a refund its that bad. how can I possibly play a game when the main character is missing.
A Classic Remastered right Completely captures the NES Ducktales game with just the right amount of new and nostalgia to satisfy anyones desires. I dont play much games on my phone but this certainly makes me have to. Love the difficulty of it also, not too easy to just run through the game.
Don't buy it I can't even see the characters on my galaxy S5 mini, so how am I supposed to play ??? I contacted the customer service about this issue and all they said was, wait until we make an update that might maybe fix your problem one day. I just want my money back.

Wish it was playable on the nvidia shield tv This is a great game but the android version has some issues. For one it burns tons battery when its running in the background which it should not. My other problem is the fact that in this version of the game the pogo function does not require you to press down on the game pad to work. This may make it easier to play on a touch screen. But for those of us old timers playing on a game pad it just feels wrong for ducktales....An option to restore that functionality for those of us that want it would be appreciated. If these issues were fixed it would be 5 stars. Playing on a nVidia shield portable.
Great game. Very hot phone! The game is as good as the original. I don't have a problem with controls. It feels pretty good. However, my OpO really heats up! After 5 minute gameplay I have to close it and leave it to rest for a while. Pretty uncomfortable stuff.
Almost good. Everything looks ok, sounds ok. The controls work fine, but there's a problem. The controls are on top of the game screen, and oftentimes right over the action. Especially, for example, during boss fights. How can I play if the action is happening behind my thumbs? Unfortunately, I didn't realize this was going to be a problem until the refund period expired. Now, there IS an option to adjust the opacity of the on-screen buttons, but it makes no difference when I can't adjust the opacity of my thumbs.
Brings back memories On screen controls are a bit hard to use compared to a joystick. certain levels require combo moves which can't be fully attained without a joystick, hopefully supported one day...
This is really well gone, but I'm itching to play it on the big screen. The touch screen controls are just too tough to master for my giant thumbs. NVIDIA Shield compatibility would turn this to a 5 star review QUICK.

Great game so far, and for only 99 cents it's a steal. I honestly wouldn't have enjoyed the game much at all if it wasn't for the game pad support it really makes the difference over touch screen controls. The PS4 controller works perfectly on the Nexus 9 over USB and a OTG cable.
Great Game Great game, and fun. The original run was a bit before my time (I was a genesis kid). This one is nice and looks okay, not a fan of 2.5D especialy with such crisp and beautiful character/enemy sprites. Also as of recently they removed the option to mute the game audio, kind of an annoying trend Disney. Castle of Illusion has this issue, but with that one the music plays on when screen is off, not cool. Also for whatever reason joystick left doesn't work for me, the other three directions do, digital is fine
Good Game, Broken Controls [Galaxy S4 & Nexus 7 (2013)]: Great remastering of a classic game. Sound and visuals are well done. The only issues, and a large one at that, is the controls lock up or fail to respond. Sometimes I'll get stuck walking in a direction till I die and other times nothing registers untill I restart the game. These control issues render the game completely unplayable thus why I gave a two out of five.

Nailed It WayForward The NES / Gameboy port are among my favorite games - WayForward nailed this remaster. Sure the touch controls arent ideal for a twitchy platformer, but the care put into the aesthetic will delight any fan of the show and original title. Somehow a classic feels fresh to me again. Great job!
Fun, but difficult controls and drains battery I was super excited to see this game, but its a killer on my battery. I went from 65% to 13% in 10 minutes of play. The controls are a bit of a pain to get used to as well. Its fun, but the battery problem is too much for such a simple game
Disney cartoon quality Just like playing and being in a cartoon. Fantastic graphics, catchy music and superb story. Easy mode is great for children as well as myself, plus you can also pick where you want to go next on the map. Their is some slow down at times and ropes jumps get a little tricky at the end, but overall this is great game that brings a smile to your face, young or old.
It's ducktales Pros: faithful graphics, well done cinematic sequences, moon stage music, different difficulties, pogo stick, it's ducktales. Cons: very short, very very expensive (thankfully I got mine on sale for 99 cents), some music glitches, the game really heats up the phone and it stays scorching unless you close it in the background. Overall: eh. Pass on it. Maybe it'll come in a humble bundle one day.
My all time fav remake! I own this on Xbox, PS3 and now my phone. I absolutely adore this game! One of my all time fav games and cartoon as a kid remade to make me feel full of the nostalgia feels! My only gripe are the controls. Touch controls are very unresponsive, making pros like me revert back to Normal difficulty. As the more advanced techniques (low pogo,combo pogo, and platforming) that require tight and responsive controls just aren't an option. However, this game is still fun on Normal. Despite quick phone over heating.
Your device isn't compatible with this version Disappointed that this is listed as incompatible with my Archos Gamepad and Xperia Play as this game needs physical controls, touch screen d-pads are just not responsive enough. Tried it on a device with a wireless PS3 controller but I could only move, none of the buttons worked. Would be great if developers would support button mapping like emulators. Otherwise the graphics, sound and presentation is excellent.
Fun Amazing game but unfortunately my weak cell phone makes this game laggy and hard to play. The little I played through I enjoyed and can see its a well made game IF your phone can handle it.
